Bedtime always end up in tears

Hi all

i have a 21m who still doesnt self settle fully and is held to sleep then transferred. Bedtime can either go really smoothly or we are up for ages trying to get her down and always seems to end in tears. Ive tried leaving her in cot awake, tried staying in room but still end up going back to holding

has anyone got any tips for this please? Its starting to get to me and really dont look forward to bedtime

Will she settle if she lies down and you pat her between the bars of her cot ?

Have you tried holding her hand through the cot? We had to do this with both kids at around the same age.

Hi i did try that today for her nap but she just kept standing up. Today probably wasnt the best day to try and she has been really grumpy but i will give it a go..how would you then go about stopping this stage? Thanks
