He’s always hated his cot and we haven’t had a night where we haven’t had to cosleep. Until… we went to visit family and he slept through every single night in his travel cot.

Cue coming home, first night in travel cot - wonderful. Tonight in cot - horrific already so have moved back to travel cot.

I keep reading that travel cots can’t be used permanently but I now can’t imagine another year of no sleep till he moves into a bed. Has anyone used the mesh bed rails on a standard single bed like the attached?

looking for some advice from a sleep deprived parent!

I use a travel cot as a permanent solution for our second. I was worried about it but health visitor was fine with it and directed my to the lullaby safe sleep guidelines. He’ll be in the travel cot until we can move him into his own room (he’ll share with our eldest so not sure when this will be).

Oh, our eldest started climbing out of his cot at 18mo so we moved him into a bed shortly after so it may not be for long.

Is this just with the thin hard mattress that comes with the travel cot?
