3 month old will only feed to sleep (EBF)

My 3 month old will only settle to sleep if fed despite recent efforts to rock/sshhh/pat etc by either myself or his dad. He becomes absolutely hysterical until I pop him on and then he’s asleep within 10 seconds.

I have absolutely no issues at all with feeding to sleep, but I need there to be an option for someone else to put him to bed should I not be available (we have a 4 yr old too). Any tips?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

My kids were both like this. They kind of grew out of it at around 4/5 months though.
we did combi feed just to take the pressure off me .Both DC had a bottle of formula for their first feed and last feed of the day from their dad. I did all the breast feeding in between. We introduced this way of feeding at 4 months. Also one kid sucked their fingers and another a dummy.

I can’t remember my first being like this so it’s a bit of a shock! Glad to know it’s a phase (hopefully!). My husband gives a bottle of expressed milk every evening, but he still won’t settle for him. He tried to rock him to sleep last night and it ended in tears for us all!!

I hope we get there. It’s mentally tough.

Sounds perfectly normal and developmentally normal.

I wouldn't worry about feeding to sleep at 3 months Wink
