Mum struggling to rock baby

Hello! I posted on here once before since becoming a new mum and found the community so helpful ❤️ so thank you in advance!
Wondered if anyone had any tips for rocking a baby to soothe if you're a mum? I have a wonderful bond with my beautiful baby boy, four months old :) but to get him to sleep I have to put him in a baby carrier to jig him around because he is just so wriggly and unsettled in my arms. That then means that it's tricky to extract him without waking him after to place him in his crib! My husband seems able to rock in his arms easily and then place him down nice and smoothly but when I try he squirms and tries to bite at my boobs (!) (breastfed baby!)! I've tried sort of holding him upright to rock him to avoid this but he's starting to get heavy so ends up sort of sliding down my body 🤦🏼‍♀️ I just wondered a. if any other mums seem to find rocking hard when their husbands don't as it's starting to knock my parenting self esteem a bit! and b. if there are any positions or techniques which you've found particularly successful? Thank you! X

Have you got a bouncy chair that you can bounce him in instead ?

It sounds like he can smell your milk so it’s not that you are doing anything wrong. To be honest if you are breastfeeding this is one thing you can delegate .

Do you have a rocking chair?

I hold my babies bum while rocking and do more of a 'jiggle' action. Or sometimes she really fights me if I'm rocking but I will persevere for 5 mins and she'll give up and settle.

Also maybe try a high neck/thick top - borrow your partners hoody or something so boobs aren't so much of a distraction.

Do you still swaddle him? My boy did the same, i swaddles real tight and held his arms down firmly and his body tight to mine and walked around. Also mostly used a gym ball for bouncing so I didnt have to walk and bounce.
