my 12 week old used to sleep for 6-9 hour chunks at night time from really early on which i know is lucky but now he is awake every hour and a half regardless just to be resettled and it’s really getting to me the exhaustion! he’s 12 weeks old but he was 2 weeks late so i’m not sure if this is the 4 month sleep regression come early as i read it can come between 3-5 months and he is almost 3 months and adjusted age would be over 3 months anyway so is that what this is? and do we just ride it out and it’ll get better or do i need to be doing something to help it come to an end? first time mum so literally no idea

i have a now 16.5 week old and this happened to me too at around this mark. I believe it is the 4 month sleep regression and their sleep cycles are changing! As well as mine had started to learn how to roll and I’ve read this can massively impact sleep too.

No advise apart from i empathise! My boy is still struggling with his sleep, each night is different. The other day he did a 4 hour stretch again and had had a few 3 hour stretches at the beginning of the night so much better then his hourly wakes! I breast feed so have been (safely) co sleeping to keep sane. Much to my partners despair being kicked out of bed!

for his naps I’ve also had to stay close to help him transition back into his next sleep cycle in the day to make sure he gets enough rest as this helps his night time
sleep.

Everyone says it gets easier so I suppose we have to believe them right? I think it’s a case of riding this one out. Good luck!
