17 month old sleep patterns

My DD was sleeping until 7.30-8 for just about all of January. Since the beginning of February she's been getting up around 6-6.30, 7 if we're really lucky. We haven't changed her bed time (7.30pm) or nap time (usually she won't go to sleep until about 2pm) and really don't know why it's changed. She is now so tired by bedtime that she sometimes falls asleep while she's having her milk.

Has anyone else experienced the same?

We've been trying to stick to the same bedtime to try and get her to sleep longer, but it doesn't seem to be working. Any suggestions?

my 16 month old has a nap around 12.30pm which last 1 1/2 to 2 hours usually and then bedtime is around 7.15/7.30. He is awake sometime between 6 and 7am although if he isnt crying I can manage to have a quick shower before getting him out the cot (I have to get dd to nursery by 9am so like to get washed when he isnt about to wreck the place!). Could you try bedtime a little earlier just to see if it makes a difference as overtiredness can cause sleeping problems and your lo is missing out on a couple of hours sleep a day.

my ds, aged 19 mths, has been wakening earlier due to it being a bit lighter now.

do you have blackout blinds/blackout linings? We have them on both lo's windows as light mornings can wake them up early.

We don't have blackout blinds. I have thought about getting them, but a few times when she has woken up it's been really dark still so I'm not sure it would help. If it carries on I might have to try them though!

DS is doing this as well, only he's waking up at 5ish . I think it's common at 17/18 months, unfortunately, but am hoping he will get through it
