What size bed would you put a 3.5 year old in? A toddler bed or a single bed? 🤔 ....different websites say different things

A single, it'll last longer.

We never had toddler beds (or Moses basket or bassinet come to that). All of our dc went from hospital to cot to single bed. It was 1) cheaper and 2) less transitions.

Neither of my kids ever used a toddler bed. It's just a big waste of time and money.

Mine went straight to single beds after a cot

I'd do single bed and if you're worried about them falling out then get a bed guard.

Yeh, it did sound like a waste of money! I couldn't get why I'd buy a toddler one.

Very true. I had a bed guard when I was little. Think these "toddler beds" sound like a money making thing 🙄

Our 3 year old is in a toddler bed that Santa brought last Christmas. Transitioned straight into in from cot. It's a novelty bed, he likes it and we like it. I got it second hand on marketplace. Personal choice really.

Ds1 went into an Ikea junior bed from his cot as we didn't have the room for a single (he was in a cot til age 3).

He stayed in that until he got a loft bed aged 9 at which point ds2 transitioned into the small bed from his cot.

So that was the reason - space, and then reusing a perfectly good bed for second child.

If we'd had more room though, we'd have put him straight into a single probably around age 2.
