Advice on naps without rocking?

DD is 5 months old and sleeps through now 7pm-7am and has 3 naps a day but apart from at night time where she can settle a bit easier and quicker herself I always have to rock her to sleep or she gets so upset. I know she's only young so I don't mind rocking her exactly but want to eventually be able to help her self settle better as she gets older. Currently she never really seems sleepy exactly but i always leave it a max of two hours awake time. If I just put her in bed she lies there wide awake and happy playing until she starts crying then gets worked up but will never just nod off to sleep. If I rock her she'll get to sleep after a while and I can put her in bed and she'll nap for between 30min - 1hr. She's obviously just used to that being a cue for sleep! I've tried not picking her up out of bed but if I go and sit with her and try and calm her etc she is happy but wide awake again and doesn't nod off. Maybe it's just age but thought I'd ask if anyone knew any tricks to help! Thanks

I think you should create a sleep-friendly environment. Ensure her sleep environment is comfortable, quiet, and dimly lit. Consider using white noise or a soft lullaby to create a soothing atmosphere. Use a consistent sleep space, such as a crib, to associate the area with sleep.
