2.5 year old suddenly bad sleeper

My 2.5 year old has always been a good sleeper, until 2 weeks ago I could pop her into her cot for nap time and bed times and she would fall asleep independently.

For the past 2 weeks she will scream when I leave the room and I’ve tried leaving her for intervals, increasing the time each time but she doesn’t settle and makes herself sick from screaming. She’s also started climbing out of her cot. I’m having to sit by her bed until she falls asleep which just isn’t sustainable as I’ve got an older child and with me there she takes longer to go to sleep and messes around. I’ve put a blackout blind in her window, we read a story and she has lullabies playing and a small nightlight.

Losing the will slightly. Does anyone have any experience ?

Maybe it's time to try her in a proper bed rather than a cot?
