Hi all,

I'm wondering when would be a good time for my LO to drop from 2 naps to 1?

Our routine is as follows:
6:45am - wake up (I would wake him up if he isn't awake by then)
7am - morning bottle
8am - Breakfast
9:45/10am - morning nap (1.5h)
11:30am - snack
12:30pm - lunchtime bottle
1pm - lunch
2:30am - afternoon nap (40mins)
3:30/4pm - snack
5:15pm - dinner
6:45pm - bath, book, bottle, bed (asleep by 7:50ish)

His morning wake ups varies from 5:30am - 7am. I usually wake him by by 7am latest as I don't want to interfere with the naps and schedule.
Morning naps vary from 1.5h to 2h. Again, I wake him up after 1.5h as I don't want him to sleep for too long and be under tired. His afternoon nap is tricky; he has fought it once before and sometimes tries to launch himself off me or fuss a bit but would eventually fall asleep. His afternoon naps can vary from 40mins - 1h (again, I don't let him sleep past an hour because of dinner and bedtime).
When it comes to bedtime, he used to fall asleep on the boob/bottle but now he would wriggle and fuss which could take about 15mins to get him to fall asleep - rocking and patting his bum while doing so.
He's coming up to 11months at the end of July so I'm not sure whether this is too early to drop a nap and have a long one around 11:30am...

Can anyone advise? Many thanks!

Hi. It might be a tad too early to drop to 1 nap but you could try it. My LO is nearly 13 months and still doesn’t quite last until lunchtime. What’s worked for me is to give him a bridge nap - around 9.30/10 let him nap but wake after 15-20 minutes. He will still be tired but will come around and then 12.30/1 ish he has his proper nap for a couple of hours. I’m even now cutting down his first nap to 10 mins otherwise he fights his lunch nap and he will drop it eventually soon. It make take a while for him to get used to a short nap in the morning but he should get used to it.
