Crib to Cot

Did anybody find their baby slept better when they went in their cot? My 9mo is currently waking up multiple times a night after rolling over to her front and being at the edge of the next to me (side up). She can fully roll over btf and ftb. She used to sleep really well.

Yeah, my son slept way better in the cot, and way better again once I moved him to a bed! I thought the next to me was only for up to about 6 months? Sounds like your baby might have outgrown it?

Next to me is up to 6 months. So they have outgrown and it’s probably dangerous as many 9 month olds can stand up at side so would fall out. Move to cot. Cot doesn’t last that long either, you have to take
sides off once they learn to climb out

My 5 month old sleeps much better in her cot. By 4 and a half months in her next to me, she ended up wedged in with her head on one side and her legs at the other if that makes sense! Now she’s in her cot (although still room sharing due to safe sleep guidance), she ends up horizontal in the cot by the morning! She definitely needs the room to shuffle round and was waking herself up in the crib as it was too small. She’s not even rolling yet…

Are you saying your 9mth old is still in a crib?
That's definitely to old, and potentially dangerous, they will sleep much better in a cot.

9 month olds should be in a cot by now.

TropicalTrama · 18/07/2023 07:26

Yes mine definitely slept better in the cot but we figured that out at like 9 days, not 9 months! If you’re using like a small space saver cot that’s fine but anything like a next to me or bassinet with a 9MO is really dangerous as they could roll and tip it or they could pull to stand and fall out.

Thankyou. As a first time mum I am still learning. I thought they were up to 12 months so glad I asked. Looks like shes going in her own room tonight ☺️
