Help, 5.5mo won't nap!

Ok hoping someone will be able to help because I feel like I am going insane!

To clarify, dd has always been a bad napper since about 4 weeks old but I've always been able to get her to go off in the pram.. until about 2 weeks ago. I could rock her in the garden then leave her with the rockit on and she'd have half an hour (has never really napped for more than 45 mins at a time but I accepted that). She used to nap every 2 hours or so, not easily, but I could get her to. I've tried shorter and longer wake windows which neither have helped. It then gets to the point she's been up 4/5 hours and will fall asleep exhausted and wake up still tired.

When she was tiny she'd sleep in the carrier but won't any more. She also used to contact nap a lot after falling asleep feeding but rarely does any more. If by some miracle she falls asleep on me I can put her down (never used to be able to) but it's rare she does. If I put her down awake she will not sleep.

She doesn't have a dummy but does suck her thumb, if she is really really tired she'll go off sucking her thumb but by that point she's really over tired. Seems the only way I can get her to nap is in the car but even then she has to be really tired and will fight it.

At night she goes to sleep easily and sleeps 12 hours, it's just the day naps! Help!?

Something similar happened with my dd. The 4 month sleep regression kicked in late and lasted for 6 weeks. It was awful but it won’t last forever.

@vincettenoir oh I really hope it is that and will get better soon! She's had a grand total of half an hour today and by the evening she's not in a good mood..! Feel like I spend my whole day trying to get her to sleep and by 4/5pm I've sort of given up! Will try and ride it out..

Yeah I’m sure you’re both really strung out by that time. I was knackered at the time and desperate for time to myself in the day. But I really think you’re over the worse of it and things will turn a corner soon. Good luck with it all.

Bumping in case anyone has any other ideas as it's not getting any better 🙈
