Need help figuring sleeping arrangements--baby no2 on the way and need to sort this!

Hi all. Im in a dilemma and need to sort before baby2 arrives.

We have a 15 month old who will be 22 months when dc2 arrives. Currently our sleeping arrangements are:

  • dh in main bedroom, king bed
-ds in guest room, cotbed with all sides up, right next to a double bed where I sleep.

Ds naps fine in cotbed in day and starts off in cot at bedtime but then 2hrs later, is moved into the double bed. So him and I cosleep for most part and he sleeps well then.

When dc2 arrives, I plan on moving to the main bedroom where dh sleeps, and get the next to me crib out again.

Regarding ds, he will either stay in guest room or move to a spare room....either way, Im torn between just having a cot in there, or moving him to a small double with guards. He has never liked his cotbed and even if he did, there will be nights when hes unwell/teething when he'll want someone there with him. So options for ds room:

-cot bed alone
-cotbed with single next to it (so he can be comforted by me or dh in the single when he is poorly)
-small double with guards
-montessori floor bed---least fave option as its hard to totally baby proof his room and im worried about mould

Any advice/thoughts appreciated.

I would keep it as it is - DS in cot next to double bed, but with DH in there full time.

You in your room, with baby.

Also - stop calling it spare room / guest room. Surely this is "DS's room"
