I have a 5 month old and 2 year old. My 5 month old has been awake since half 4 this morning and had one 20 min nap when I wheeled her all the way into town in her pram and back: I have tried the same but no help. I have spent zero time with my toddler as I’m trying to get the baby to nap. I have tried Honeslty everything and nothing is working. She will only nap on me but I have a toddler to look after. What do I do I am struggling thanks

Do you have a sling ?

Weloveflowerss · 14/07/2023 11:57

yes but she doesn’t want to be in it, literally fights her way out of it xx

Sorry you're struggling OP. Is there anyone who could come and help you today? Friends or family so you could have a bit of shut eye yourself?

Is your 5 month old happy enough when she's not napping? Could you put her on a play mat and you could still play nearby with toddler while still keeping an eye on 5 m/o?

ive asked my mum to come over so she will be here soon. The baby is rubbing her eyes and shouting so have just left her on the playmat to give toddler lunch. This surely is not normal for a baby to sleep so little?

Not to worry you but my little one is a demon when I try to get him to sleep. He barely naps at all 15-20 mins max maybe twice a day and don't even let me get started on nighttime. He's been like this since birth. Some babies just don't want/need loadsa sleep. Just hang in there

If she doesn't like the sling would she tolerate a baby carrier so she's strapped to your front in a sleeping position? You could put it on while laying down with her on your chest till she's asleep, then strap up and go about your day

Thanks, she would sleep for hours if it was on me so I know she needs the sleep. Hope you are over the worst of it now!
