Sleep training

Son was a great sleeper to begin with but after 4 months of terrible eczema he'd gotten used to contact naps. Now that we are successfully managing his eczema and he is 13 months old we are tapped out so wanted to try the Ferber sleep training method.

Do you also follow the same method for daytime naps? And at what point do you give up for that nap? I just tried the very first attempt and he screamed to the point of almost choking. Eventually picked him up and he fell asleep in my arms within seconds. Obviously I want to keep trying but definitely need advise. He didn't lay down once, just stood at the bars screaming.

I would do CIO for naps but if he’s really resistant stop and try again in 30 minutes.

Have you started it at night? With my eldest we started night and daytime at the same time and naps took a while of being consistent to work.

with my youngest I was less structured about naps and pram naps / contact / sling were happening more often. We did night first and then randomly daytime naps happened with ease
