10 month old screaming at night

We are on night number 4 of relentless screaming.

He's not too hot or too cold. No temperature. No rash. Empty nappy.

I am exhausted and despairing.

Tried shh-patting, tried a cuddle, nothing seems to settle him.

Any ideas please?

Only to ride it out. Keep your consistent routine and he'll go back to his normal in time. It's usually developmental when sleep is disturbed (if no illnesses seem present) so in a round about way he's going backwards to move forwards.

The only thing you can do is stick with routine and wait it out. If you change your routine, especially as they get older, they will start to manipulate situations if they know they can. Not horribly, it's just what children do given half a chance. 😂

Is he aware of you? Sounds like night terrors but 10 months seems very young.

I think I’d talk to the HV.

Thank you @Milkand2sugarsplease
Just hoping it's short lived!

Not sure @MrsSkylerWhite as my 4 year old has night terrors. 10 month old just seems really really angry!

Typically had been quiet for 10 minutes when 4 year old shouted 🙈 Now everyone's awake again 😩

We've just been through some sketchy nights with our (just) 2 yr old - taking longer to settle at night and then waking at silly o'clock and having a party in his crib before dozing off again. We've been lucky this time that he's happy enough to be in his cot, just party central in there but, of course, we're just awake listening to the shenanigans in there.
Thankfully, eldest has slept though it all.....
