Hi! My soon to be 11 month old is going on her first camping weekend this weekend coming the weather is looking lovely it’s saying lows of around 14/15c highs of 24/26c obviously not sure what the night temp would be I’m just after some advice as to what baby needs to sleep in, we are taking a travel cot and have brought a mattress for it so she’s more comfy and slightly raised off the ground. I have 2.5tog sleeping bags do you think this with long vest long sleep suit and socks over long sleep suit under the bag will be enough? As I just want to enjoy the experience and not spent it up every hour checking her. T.I.A x

I wouldn't say 2.5 tog would be enough personally but it's tricky to guage. Depends the temp at night!

We went camping when my DS was 9 months ish. We had a higher tog sleeping bag (3.5, with sleeves which were detachable). It was August. But travel cot worked well and good for containment!

So the tricky aspect with camping and getting baby to sleep is the temp during the day and being hot then it dropping and them being cold and then it risking again in the morning. I have always viewed it better to risk being too cold then risk overheating. We open everything up before bed and our ds is in a sleepsuit and 2.5tog for bedtime where its usually around 20ish. I take a blanket along with us the hospital kind where if it's doubled it counts as 2 layers etc and put that over when I go to bed or if it feels chilly.
Take a bath/air thermometer with you so you can easily gauge it.

Thank you all think I may just Amazon a higher tog bag and then I’ve got the two options then, our tent was brilliant however we are borrowing my bil tent this time so I have no idea what it’s like in there I know I always get cold at night camping so I just want to make sure she’s ok, my partner and my 9 year old are like human radiators and I didn’t camp until she was about 2/3 so I never had this worry before 🤣😩 x

If you can’t find one on Amazon I picked mine up at JoJo.
