So my 6 month old has generally been a reasonably good sleeper with just the usual wake ups you'd expect for a bf baby his age. But in the last month he's started to struggle to stay asleep. He will be tired and I watch closely for his tired cues and during the day he'll nap well on me and within the expected wake windows for his age. But at night I'll nurse him, make sure he has no wind and then cuddle him to sleep. He goes over no problem because he's tired and seems ready for sleep. I transfer him into the cot and he seems to be asleep. Except it only lasts 10-20minutes before he wakes crying. He's exhausted- eyes are rolling in his head but he's then too distressed to go back down. His normal bedtime is about 8.30 and we could go through this process of going to sleep, putting him down and him waking a bit later for hours. Last night he went until 1am. He gets upset when he wakes and realises he's alone.
Is this normal? Is there anything I can do to help him fall asleep more deeply? We have just started weaning so I know there's a leap around now but it's been ongoing for a full month now so I'm starting to question myself. He also won't go down at all for my dh it has to be me so it means I'm getting nothing done at all in the evenings which is quite full on because he'll only contact nap during the day so I'm falling behind on other things because I'm constantly attending to baby. (Dh is great and steps up loads but it's not the same as splitting everything between us like we usually do). Any advice or anyone go through similar? I wondered about teething but there doesn't seem to be any big signs of any coming through just yet...
