what age for duvet?

My DD is 16mths and has worked out how to unzip her grobag. This usually results in her with one leg stuck out which she cannot mangage herself to get back in. So she is uncomfortable/possibly cold and wakes up.

What age did people despatch of grobags and get duvets? When she was newborn she never took to blankets and always kicked them off so as soon as she was big enough for grobags she had them and has had ever since.

Not sure if she would throw off a duvet and be even more cold. Also is there still the suffacation risk?

Thanks

both my dds went into big girls beds at 18mnths and at the same time i got them duvets. i just bought normal size single beds and normal size duvets. i got them from next where they have a choice of hte antiallergy ones etc etc or whatever they are called. i got pillows from mothercare.

no bother at all and never kicked off (possibly cos full size duvet and fairly heavy. they were v snug

i THINK the recommendation is not under one - so your dd should be fine - think ds went under a duvet about 20 mths (and wasn't as kicky as I expected) dd still in gro bag at nearly 2 (& will stay there as long as poss!)

dd1 refused to get into her sleeping bag at 18months - i then had to switch to a cot duvet. i put more clothes on her so that when she wriggled out from the duvet she wouldn't get as cold. also crept into her room once she was asleep to put what bits of the duvet i could get back over her.
