Is my baby teething?

Hello,
first time mum here!
my four month old has been very unsettled the past few days, constantly putting his hands in his mouth and lots of drool.
last night for the first time he kept turning to his side to sleep and he’s doing the same now.
do babies sleep on the side the teeth hurt? When I move him back he just goes straight back onto his side.
Any advice appreciated x

Sleeping on their side isn't connected to teething as far as I know, at least I've never heard of it.

He could possibly be teething if he's unsettled but it's also developmentally normal to be chewing on everything including hands and drooling loads at this age, my son used to do this at 3-4 months but he was almost 10 months old before he got his first tooth. You could try checking his gums to see if you can see or feel anything coming up.

If in doubt then I don't think there's any harm in giving a dose of calpol before bed and seeing if it helps.
