8 month old needs feeding to sleep again!

Wondering what is going on?! My LG is nearly 8 months and was able to put herself to sleep for naps and bed time and was sleeping a good 5-6hr stretch. But over the past couple of weeks she hasn't been going to sleep in her own and the only way I can get her to sleep is BF her (which I don't mind) but it's all naps and nighttime sleep now. She has also started waking every 1-2 hours in the night and needed boob to get her back to sleep (no necessarily feeding just for comfort) and it's exhausting!

I know there's a regression around now and we're dropping her from 3-2 naps but I'm worried that she's lost all ability to sleep 'on her own' and that with me feeding her to sleep again I'm back to the start of the newborn phase - I'm
Hoping that after the regression (if that's what's causing it) she will stop relying on being feed to sleep or using me as a human dummy.

It's all ups and downs for the first few years with sleep. It's not a linear progression at all, and they go through phases of needing different kind of support with it.

Also, she's not using you as a human dummy. Dummies are used as imitation nipples.
