I am a zombie today my 14 week old didn't sleep at all I think he maybe had about half an hour if that other than that he was just moaning eating his hands not wanting. Fed I tried that I tried changing him even brought him in my bed with me but nope nothing so we're now down stairs in the living room I'm a zombie and he's in his bouncer I know the point of this post. I also thinks he's teething can he be at this strange?

He can be teething at 14 weeks yeah.

You poor thing, is he sleeping now? I'd try putting him down for a nap and get back in bed!

Is he breastfeeding?
If so, have you eaten anything he could have reacted to?

They can absolutely be teething: my 16 week old has his first tooth and is working on his second.

Baby sleep looks different to adult sleep: he may have had more than you think, even if you haven’t! They move and have their eyes open and doze and do all sorts of weird shit. If he’d really not slept at all in however many hours I’d expect him to be screaming the place down with exhaustion.

Are you picking him up every time he stirs? Try a frozen flannel for him to gnaw on if it’s teeth, and get him a nap in the sling if he’s overtired.

I'm bottle feeding. I have no idea maybe he's still not sleeping just lying playing with his hands

Honestly this book saved my sanity in the first year. Now it looks like the info is all there for free online. It's just a stage, it'll pass

Is he actually crying @yvonneb13? Will he go back to sleep if you just rest a hand gently in his tummy?

FernGully43 · 21/05/2023 20:08

Could be 4 month regression starting early. My 16 week olds sleep has been dreadful for two and a half weeks. He finally has slept well the last few nights again but I'm dead from weeks of late nights and hourly wake ups. From 4am, every 15 minutes

Been there. Feel for you op

Go for the longest walk ever in the fresh air before bedtime
Bath with lavender soaps ( like johnsons) and then
Big feed before bed
Dim the light gradually over half an hour while feeding. Get a dimmer lamp if needs be
Put babies bedtime later
Lavender room spray
Try white noise/pink noise/brown noise/womb sounds
Try anbesol on teeth, calpol and laying baby on their back and gently do a cycling motion with their feet
If your baby is swaddled try a sleeping bag (depending on babies weight)
It will pass but it's hell when it's happening

Has he crashed out during the day at all @yvonneb13 ?

Is he in a cot at night - I.e. a totally safe space for him? If he is then I'd stick him in there and leave him to it. If he's not screaming he's potentially just entertaining himself in a way he can't yet explain!

Hope you get some sleep tonight - sleep deprivation by baby is torture!

Hi, my 11 week old baby who is on combined feeding is getting up at night frequently. Tried to breastfeed but is not going back to sleep and is sucking his right hand. I had to get up and prepare a bottle to to him up. He slept only for a couple of hours and then again he was up. No sleep for baby and me :( any advice? Thanks
