Three week old slept for eight hours

I am absolutely not complaining about this but last night my almost three week old slept for eight hours (11pm - 7am). Should I be worried and I should I have woken him?

He’s exclusively breastfed and usually feeds about every three hours so didn’t think to set an alarm because wasn’t expecting him to sleep so long!

It was no doubt a one off but just wondering if I should be waking him sooner if it happens again.

He went from 25th percentile when born to 75th percentile at 14 days old so I have no weight concerns (lots of wet and dirty nappies too).

Nope, if its at night time do not wake him. He's well and truly gained his birth weight so is absolutely fine to leave during the night.

As long as he continues to put weight on, leave him.

I’m so glad you both said that 😅 My DS1 was a horrendous sleeper so I just want to take the sleep where I can!

Take the win!

A doctor once told me (when my 6 week old started sleeping 10-12 hours a night) that 'Some babies sleep longer than others. Lucky you.'

So unless there's lethargy (once awake) or other markers of illness, I wouldn't panic too much.

Don't wake him! Enjoy it, thank your lucky stars and prey it happens occasionally.
DS1 did similar for us, one really great sleep every few weeks - I assumed it was tied to a growth spurt or something. It was bliss!

Mine did exactly the same! Admittedly having screamed from 8-11am, and the toddler woke up at 5.30. But still, I have my fingers firmly crossed for a good sleeper. Im owed one after DD1!
