Hey mums! Just wanted to see if anyone has any ideas for my 21 month old who is apparently a master climber! over the last couple of weeks he has managed to climb out of his cot, the travel cot, use the radiator to climb up to the windowsill, climb on to the top of his dresser, use the kitchen drawer handles to climb onto the countertop (and turn on the air fryer), climb to the VERY top of his Ikea play kitchen.
For bed time we have removed the cot and travel cot from his room, as they were just unsafe because he was out of them in about 30 seconds (if that). We have put an extra tall baby gate across the door way so he can't get out of his room (he climbed over the standard height baby gate). We now also have to put him in a backwards sleep sack so that he can't get his legs up high enough to climb the radiator/window in his room (he figured out the zipper so has to be on backwards).
He now has the freedom to get up in the middle of the night and it's keeping him up - I dont really interact with him at night when he wakes, I just tell him it's bed time and lay him back down on his mattress. He went from sleeping through the night consistently to now being up for at least an hour to two hours each night in the middle of the night.
Sorry for the long post - but needing some ideas how to stop/settle this climber!!
