My ds1 did exactly this when I first tried so I gave up for a while and tried again when he was older - about 12 months I think. We managed to crack it in about 3 or 4 nights then with no sick.

Maybe it's not the right time to put her through it if she's so hysterical she's sick?

think this is not uncommon. certainly my ds did it a lot. being sick always resulted in the end of ym CC for the night when he was this young, but when he was 2 we left him - eg he was sick, I went and cleaned up, changed linen, but then put him back in bed - and after 3 nights of that he stopped.

Gah, I just have to say that I really really REALLY wouldn't do it if it upsets her so much. Maybe she is just too young. I'd leave it for another couple of months. (I must confess I am not a fan of cc personally.)

Have you tried going back into sooth before getting to the sick stage, it'd mean going in more often that you'd like, but you may be able to build up time left alone over time? Remember reading something on another sleep thread recently that had a few links to sleep therapists and one of these had a testimonial that had a throwy up baby solved, can anyone do the link again (cause I'm useless and can't even think of the name of the clinic)

I thought I'd try this approach too, but ds2 (also 10 mths) just got too distressed and started to be sick after a very short time. I couldn't bear it and have abandoned the idea totally! He hardly sleeps in the day despite being v tired and this is why I was trying to get him to nap. He is usually so tired he goes to sleep easily at night, but wakes a lot during the night. We are permenantly knackered, but hopefully this stage won't last forever and he's easy in every other way, so we've decided that if what he needs to settle in the night is to be in with us and we all get sleep, then that's what we'll do. As long as he goes in his own bed to begin with, then he's always going to be used to that and hopefully as he grows, will need us less in the night! We live in hope anyway! I don't think it's worth the distress just at the moment, for us anyway.
