Ewan VS white noise machine

Hello,

I'm about to become a first time parent and I'm wondering if I'm better with a Ewan deluxe or a £20 white noise machine off Amazon.
I know the deluxe has a 4 hour listen to active itself again if needed but the noise machines just stay on indefinitely and are cheaper.

Just looking for options so I can make a decision please

Thanks

I've had both and personally I would go for white noise. My toddler still uses a white noise machine and bought a second one for DC2. ewan remains unused

Id go with a white noise machine too. The one we have has a few different options and a low light on it

I'd go white noise machine. We have them for both dc and Ewan is no longer with us (not dead, we gave him away!)

We had the smallest myhummy which had a velcro strap to attach it to the pram or sling. It has been brilliant and I recently bought another one second hand off eBay for £10 so that we have 2 and always have one handy! The big teddies look lovely but they're not as practical. The little myhummy can be carted about all over in the baby bag, go on the pram, go to the childminder's etc.

If you’ve got an Alexa you can just get the Sleep Sounds skill and ask it to play white noise (or pink or brown…) for free.

I'll buck the trend and say we got Ollie the Owl who also does listening and we still use him at (nearly) 4. Ours runs on batteries but I think the newer version is rechargeable.

We absolutely loved Ewan!

Thank you very much everyone. Taking a vote and off the back of what some friends irl have said I think I'm gonna go with the portable sound machine we found.

Go for the machine. We have Ewan and even though he’s much older now my DS will still wake me to ‘put the sheep back on’. It often takes him more than 20 minutes to fall asleep and sometimes in a morning if he’s dosing he likes it on.

Only thing he’s useful for is telling how long you’ve been stuck there by how many times you’ve had to switch him back on (20 minute run per press)
