My 6m old for a few weeks had started taking naps from about 1.5 to2hr to the point i was having to wake him up! he could do this atleast twice a day usually on his morning and lunch nap then a smaller one at tea time.
Suddenly in the last week, he’s gone from that to every nap not being longer than 30/40 mins! No matter if he’s still tired (which he can be) he will not be re-settled and he’s doing this for all 3 naps. Is this normal? Do they suddenly just need less day sleep?
I read they should be getting about 3hr day sleep at his age and now it would be a good day he if was getting 2hours!
Overnight he only needs about 10hr.

Totally normal. Sleep is developmental and goes up and down until children are 2-3-4 years old in most cases.

Sleep gets disrupted by all sorts of things - colds, teething, brain development, physical development, especially when they are on the cusp of developing a new ability.
