Hi, my 17 month old wakes up to breastfeed multiple times a night. We have recently got him in his own room and he now will settle for bed with myself or dad by just being held and then put down in his cot however when he then wakes (sometimes 4 hours later sometimes 30 mins) he will only go back to sleep if i feed him. This then goes on all night and I am exhausted. We have tried patting shushing etc and he just will not have it, screams the place down.
Has anyone had any similar experiences or could anyone offer any advise.
thank you xx

You could try cosleeping. I personally would do sleep training. It'll be rough for a few nights but he'll learn to sleep without feeding

Let your milk dry up. He doesn’t need it anymore. He needs a pacifier.

My daughter was like this and in the end I had to say it had all gone and I stopped feeding. She wasn't happy about it 🤣😱😱😱but actually by 24 hours later she forgotten all about it and she slept through.

I would go cold Turkey. Get your partner to settle so he doesn’t associate waking up with milk and sleep train to get him going through the night. 17 months isn’t a tiny baby. Are you back at work?
