5:30am wake ups

My nearly 2 year old has always been a reasonable sleeper, but recently has started waking up at between 5:30-6:00 every day. It’s been about 6 weeks so far and we are exhausted! We’ve tried differing nap times and lengths, varying up bedtime (earlier and later), trying to have super busy days to make sure he is really tired, no matter what he is wide awake for the day at 5:30!

Any tips for this tired Mumma? Baby number 2 is arriving in a few months and need to get it sorted by then!!

We’re in the midst of this as well, I really sympathise. We didn’t nap yesterday and he woke at 625, which felt like a luxurious lie in! I do think he could drop the nap but it is just hard to do because it confines us to the house a bit after about 1230!

In a short while, 5:30 will become 6:30 once the clocks go forward.

Have you tried the groclock? We used to set it an hour late and tell my then 2 year old that the sun has gone to sleep. He doesn't get up until the yellow sun wakes. It worked quite well then, he's 10 now and uses it to tell the time.
There's also a story book that comes with it.

I second the groclock.

@Amarchhare 6:25 sounds like absolute luxury! We are definitely not at the dropping the nap stage, he is vile by about 3pm without it 😂

@mishmased @Pantheon thank you, my little boy isn't quite 2 yet and is a bit ‘behind’ on his communication so not sure if he will quite understand it? But I am willing to try anything at this point so will give it a go!!
