Nap dropping hell

My little one will be 3 in April and in the last few weeks, he has started dropping his nap. However, he struggles to make it through the day without one. A few times recently he's had complete danger naps when we've gone to pick up his sister from school or like yesterday, I found him asleep at about half 3 in the playroom (it had only been for 5 minutes.) when he's at preschool, he has an hour and today they said he was falling asleep having lunch beforehand but then he's still awake now and bedtime just becomes a nightmare. I don't really know what to do. Obviously it's just a phase until he drops it completely but at the moment we're in complete limbo with it and I'm not sure if I could be doing anything to help.

Our nearly 3 year old has just dropped his naps since December. It is such a long day for them but we found it so much easier getting him to sleep at night since that it's worth it. Yes there are points in the afternoon you can see he's starting to flag, especially if in a car or watching TV but we just have to quickly rally him up and change activity and he's usually fine!

They said at school today he was falling asleep having lunch so I think he'll have to sleep on the long pre school days, which are twice a week. He becomes an emotional wreck by about 4pm on the days he doesn't nap so the last two hours of the day are a bit fraught to say the least. I already miss the daily naps 😭 at least you know where you stand! This in between stage is hard!
