Baby wakes up crying a lot in the night but can self settle - should I do anything?

Baby is nearly 1 and started nursery about a month ago so has been sick, snotty, full of cold pretty much since the start of the year.
she goes down to sleep with minimal fuss usually and normally has a few hours of undisturbed sleep.
what seems to have started happening is she’s waking multiple times through the night, bursting into tears, sitting up and sometimes standing up in her cot then after a few minutes (maybe 3-4 minutes) she will flop back down asleep. Is this normal?? I don’t really want to go in if I’ll actually disturb her more but I also feel awful hearing her cry and not doing anything. It’s not a little whimper, it’s a full on cry. And with her being so full of cold I think it’s her struggling to breathe through her nose, but who knows - could be something else as well?
any advice?
