Good evening lovely people
Advice please

Recently my little boy has started to refuse going to bed on a night.

Routine is pretty standard and has been for a long time.

Usually wakes at 6am
Cows milk
Breakfast at 8am
Lunch 11.30
Nap anywhere from 12.30 for 2 hours
Always wakes before 3.30pm
Bedtime bottle at 7pm asleep by 7.30pm

Now refusing to go to sleep.

Basically we give him a bottle and he falls asleep in our arms then straight in cot. Usually wakes around 3am ish and comes in with us and we co sleep this is what has worked for us.

We have tried to put him down awake and this is my aim. But he will not we have tried CC but he is very stubborn.
Just this week it is like something has changed it is awful. He is not teething or unwell
Any advice at all or any advice on being able to put him down awake would be great thank you xxx

His wake windows seem a little off, first wake window is 6.5 hours and 2nd is only 4-5 hours, he’s probably not tired enough. I’d be waking him earlier from the nap and push bedtime back to 8.

I would agree by "normal standards" however he just isn't ready to sleep till after his lunch and any time in the past when I have woken him up from nap he has been very upset. This was all working fine till last week. I just don't know what's going on. Can be frustrating but thanks anyway

Can you try a later bedtime then? Or cap the nap?

If he's fighting sleep then he's possibly just not tired enough yet.

Hi I was hoping it is a phase it has only been this week, was hoping someone else has gone through this but he needs a 2hr nap that's all he gets during the day xx

Whenever my baby is fighting sleep it's generally been because he's not been tired enough (unless I know he's stayed up too long or missed a nap).

When this has happen I've either had to go with a later bedtime, or cap a nap, but you don't seem convinced this is the problem.

Not sure what else to suggest but hopefully it passes for you!

Is he tired when you give him a bottle at night?
Maybe give him a few books or toys in bed and leave a bit of light. You don't have to sleep but just quiet playing in cot. Hopefully he'll drop off on his own?
