Hi guys,
looking for some advice on how to stop this before I lost my marbles ..
so our 2yo son has always been a great sleeper, from about 6 months old he has had regular naps and slept 6:45-6:45(ish).
however, he got a little Thomas the tank engine figure for Christmas and this was when it all started … he loves this Thomas and takes it everywhere and it soon started where he would wake in the night asking for Thomas, to start with it would be a straight forward giving it to him and he would go straight back to sleep, now it has progressed to initially asking for Thomas, then it’s his car, then water, then a blanket etc etc the list goes on.
if we don’t get each thing he will honestly stand there and scream and shout, I even tried leaving him once (I was at my wits end) and the screaming continued for a good hour before I caved in. We have a 4yo and although it takes a lot to wake her she is now starting to be affected by it.
im happy to let him cry and shout a little and I’ve always been quite strict in the sense that they don’t come in our beds, bedtime is bedtime etc but he will not give in with the demands and I am losing my s*#t!
i need to add too that with each demand he doesn’t go back to sleep, he will continue to demand one thing after another so he will shout for Thomas, we get him Thomas and say goodnight shut the door and the next demand will then come.
please any advice on how to stop this, I want our previous brilliant sleeper back ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
