4 m.o. keeps waking and fussing

My LO has mostly been a not an great sleeper from the start. However, the last few nights she wakes between each slee cycle and fusses (doesn’t really cry) between before going back to sleep. Sometimes she will wake, fuss for 1 minute and go straight back to sleep. Other times she wakes, fusses for 30 seconds, tries to sleep for 20 seconds, fusses for 30 seconds etc. and that can go on for 20 mins before eventually going back to sleep.

For the last few weeks we’ve been putting her down completely awake and it had been working well with her waking a few times a night and crying for a feed but last night she woke every hour and tonight is already looking to go the same way.

She does take a dummy but spits it out as she goes to sleep and then it gets in her way of her turning her face to the side of that makes sense so tonight we’re trying to not go in and give it to her.

I’ve tried to intervene as little as possible as she doesn’t seem distressed, maybe just a little frustrated- but does that make me mean? Should I be going in constantly to reassure her or is it okay to let her fuss a little even if sometimes it’s on and off for 15 mins? Has anyone been through something similar?

My DS is a week off being 4 months and he is fussing a lot more than normal in the night too!
He will turn his face into the mattress one side then do the other side and keep repeating! He is still having 2 feeds at night also, im tired!
