Overtired baby

My baby will cry so much at around 9:30pm. I think its down to being overtired. Sometimes he will only nap a few times a day for 30 mins each. However on other days he will nap 2 hours a go and be much happier at night. How do i stop the crying at night!

My 4 month old did this, still does sometimes but it had got better with time. We have the same issue with 30min naps, it's a developmental thing as they can't link sleep cycles and I hope DD will grow out of it. What time does your baby go to bed? We have found gradually bringing bedtime earlier has helped, along with white noise and a dummy. We have also found not letting her nap past 6pm helpful, and aiming for bed 2 hours after she wakes from her last nap to make sure she's tired enough. Although sometimes this final wake window has been shorter if she's been really tired.
