Won't go to sleep by himself anymore. Wakes frequently through the night and needs someone to be with him to go back to sleep. Also started having split nights. Tried putting him to bed later and it's made now difference. The only slight difference is if he doesn't have a nap we don't get the split nights. Before (two months ago) he would go off to sleep by himself and wouldn't wake in the night needing support to go back to sleep. Help! Thinking about getting a sleep specialist in!!

Is it possible he's having nightmares? My DD is almost two and started having nightmares last month. We got a nightlight and it's been like night and day - she now sleeps through the night and wakes up later in the morning.

Separation anxiety, teething - then they get scared of the dark too!

@FlowaPowar I meant we'd get him ready for
Bed and put him in cot and then he would go to sleep without the need for us to be there
