Toddler bed dilemma

I have a 2 and a half year old who is a good sleeper, no concerns with bedtime and currently in a cot bed. The problem is we are going on holiday soon and she no longer fits in the travel cot. So, do I:

  1. Train her to sleep in the big bed before we go away and leave it that way.
  2. Leave her in her cot until holiday potentially risking a bad couple of weeks of sleep and then try to put her back in the cot bed on our return.
Any advice appreciated!

Just move her into a single bed now.

Is the cot bed one where you can set it up as a small bed rather than an actual cot? I think she will be fine in a single bed either way, you could buy one of those pop up rail things if worried, if not then we used to pile cushions next to the bed just in case.

Thanks for your responses. I think my main concern is she is going to start playing up at bedtime and getting out of bed. I will give it a go and see how she is.
