My little girl is 9 weeks today and her sleep is still all over the place, is this normal? She sleeps a lot in the day, and ok at night. She only really wakes to feed and has an hour max awake, then sleeps again. She's 3-4 hourly fed 7oz and seems happy and chilled when she is awake

Yes totally normal. I would say the wake windows start to become more 'structured' soon but it's normal for sleep to be here there and everywhere with new babies!

Also an hour awake is normal, even at 5mo my baby only really went 2 hours max between naps! Instagram have some helpful accounts if you look at baby sleep

Thank you!! 🥰 do you have any you'd recommend following? I see so many people on TikTok with a 'routine' and I think wow how do you manage that lol, mine is still all over the place! Xx

At this stage I would focus on distinguishing btwn day and night, not letting them fall asleep during a feed and having big "meals" rather than small snacks. You could a look so try and start your day at the same time each day, that will start to build a routine. It will happen soon though :)

Yep, too little for any predictable routine yet! Mine didn’t start getting more reliable until around 6 months when he dropped to two naps and was eating two meals a day, before then every day was different! 😄

Takingcarababies and babysleepdr are two off the top of my head but to be honest I think the post I remember is the wake windows one I'll screenshot. Also there's ones about how much day time sleep etc.
I think the biggest thing though is use your instinct and follow your babies lead

Sounds like you're doing really well!!
I have a 9 week old and she will not nap for more than 30mins, even on me or out in the pram 🤯🤯
She feeds every bloody hour or so.
At this stage you'll just be ideally waking at the same time each morning, following wake windows of 1hr - 1hr15mins before the next nap.
Ideal situation would be feed and awake time, nap for 1-2hrs repeat.
With my DS1 we didn't really get into a good routine that was predictable by the clock until he was down to 2 naps at about 8mo.
I follow the parent and baby sleep coach and millie Poppins for advice on babies and routines
