Do I do Ferber method in the day as well?

Hi, we started Ferber method last night for our 7 month old. Night one went well overall compared. I’m just wondering if I should also be doing it in the day too?

He currently has 3 naps a day but I’ve stopped contact naps for about a week now. He has a nap in his bouncer, then in pushchair on a walk or in car if we go out and a third nap next to me on the sofa.
I’m not always at home during the day as we go out etc so I wouldn’t always be able to do Ferber in the day putting him in the cot. Is this okay?

I like that DS will nap in the pushchair out and about - I’m just worried it will mess up doing the method at night if he’s not getting the same in the day! TIA x

I did this when my baby had dropped to 2 naps (roughly 10 months) and tried to give him one nap in the cot a day either morning or afternoon and followed Ferber when I did. I think it helped to have consistency at least with for naps but still allow him to nap elsewhere when we weren't in. He sleeps like a dream now!

Ferber worked really well for us with DD at night but never managed it during the day. She would just get really upset, go off for 20 mins and wake up in a bad mood and it didn't seem worth it. So I just enjoyed that she was sleeping well at night and cut my losses where naps were concerned.

She has never slept in her cot during the day, and I've come to accept it now. At 28 months now she still sleeps on the sofa/in the car.
