Tips to get our 18mo to stop sleeping in our bed

DS is 18 months old. 2 months back he was very ill for a good 2 weeks with Strep A and would wake multiple times in the night screaming - needing calpol, cuddles and some milk. We started taking him into our bed as we were struggling with the interrupted sleep.

Fast forward two months and he's now waking up every night screaming, is not self-settling and we've gotten into the habit of bringing him into our bed.

This isn't working for anyone as we all keep waking one another up throughout the night and would like to have him sleeping the full night back in his own cot/ bed.

We have a constant bedtime routine, always put him down for his bedtime in his own cot/ bed and 7 times out of 10 will go to sleep without kicking up a fuss. It's just he seems to be waking between 12 and 2am screaming for mummy or daddy and the only thing that seems to soothe him is being put into our bed. He's definitely not hungry as he eats well during the day, he has no screen time for 2 hours before bed, but sometimes he can have really short naps so may be going to bed overtired but other than this our conclusion is he's just screaming to be in our bed and may be suffering from some form of separation anxiety.

Does anyone have any tips to help get him to sleep the full night in his own bed again please?

Thanks!
