Sleep schedule for 16 month old

I'd like some examples of sleep schedules please! DS is 16 months and dropped to 1 nap about 6 weeks ago.

We put him to bed at 7pm and he usually goes through till about 5 but sometimes it's 4:30, much to my dismay! I was going on what I've read on the internet from various sleep sources that say children this age should have a minimum 11 hours night time sleep and another 2 hours in the day. So I assumed if we put him down at 7 we should expect him to wake around 6... which would be fine but we've never managed to achieve it!

He naps at 11:30am, if he's still asleep by 2 I'll get him up but usually he is awake by 1.

Talking to family over Christmas though, they suggested 10 hours at night isn't unreasonable at this age and I'm being unrealistic to hope for him to sleep in longer if I'm putting him to bed at 7. I.e. they suggested putting him to bed at 8 if I want him to sleep until 6.

Is this right? I know every child is different but I want to maximise sleep as I know it's important for development etc.

I also really crave that earlier bedtime when I can finally relax and catch up on me stuff!
