10 month old 4am waking hysterical

For the last month (or longer!) my 10mo wakes hysterically crying between 4-4:30am every single night without fail. By this point of the night, he is usually already in my bed (gets in with us at around 2am) so I just cannot figure out what is causing him to cry so much!!

it can take a while to console him and usually I have to end up giving in and giving him a milk to make him drift off again, although I know he doesn’t need it as has enough milk/3 meals a day.

has anyone else experienced this?!

Yep! My 10 month old has been waking upset at 4-am for what seems like forever. She seems more settled if I dress her warmer. I put thick socks on under onesie and a long sleeved vest. Room is 19 degrees so on warmer side! She's been sleeping until 5:30/5:45 with
