Does anyone else's 16m old wake for hours in the night? Any advice?

My 16m has never been a good sleeper but for the last couple of months he can be awake for up to 3 hours in the night.

He doesn't seem to particularly want us most of the time - just chatting and singing - so we leave him unless he cries. If he cries, we go in briefly and then leave.

But he's so tired all the time and so it's clearly not working. I wonder if we should be going in to help him more quickly?

I'm at a loss but feeling so low and worried about it. Does anyone have any experience?

Sounds like split nights and sadly in my experience the only thing that resolves it is time. It does get better as with most child related but it's flipping tough whilst enduring the hell of split nights.

@MattieandmummyandIs thank you so much for replying. I always thought they sounded hellish and they are.

Any idea how long they last?

I think it depends on the child but my first stopped by two I think. My second hasn't started (yet).
