Laryngomalacia and sleep

My. 8 wo has just been diagnosed moderate/severe Laryngomalacia (a floppy larynx) and has pretty extreme persistent congestion. For those of you with children with Laryngomalacia, how was sleep affected? When did it start getting better?

Currently nights are variable but very difficult - some nights lo wakes every 45 mins after being put down, others it’s screaming wakes 5-20 mins after getting put down. I’m spending the majority of the night holding them ( whilst struggling to stay awake myself) and I’m feeling a bit desperate for some answers.. I’m currently averaging 3 broken hours and beginning to feel like I can’t keep going with this for Much .

  1. does this wakefulness sound like a result of the Laryngomalacia, or is it more likely to just be newborn behaviour?

  2. If your lo had Laryngomalacia, when did it start to improve?

  3. if you’ve had to do extended night support with your LO, what are your tips for keeping yourself awake!

any insight or support welcome!

My DD had a FL picked up almost from birth and corrected via surgery at 3 months.
