3 Year Old Night Wakings

I really hoped by this age we would of been out of night wakings haha.

Our 3 year old was sleeping well, maybe the odd waking. But for the last few weeks he would go to sleep about 730, wake once about midnight. Then at 3..4...5... And 6.. We can settle him in his bed and he falls asleep.

Has anyone experienced it at this age? Nothing has changed with his routine, he dropped naps ages ago. He doesn't seem over tired.

Have you tried leaving him? I used to say to Dd (whilst I was still in bed) it’s too early to wake up, go back to sleep! And she generally would. Depends how close your bedrooms are and if he can hear you I suppose.

One of the light clocks that show day/night are useful. Explain it to him a few times in the day - if it’s blue it’s too early to get up so go back to sleep, and if it’s yellow come and wake us up.

Thanks for the reply. We've told him it's too early and he does go back to sleep. But we're in the room and he falls back to sleep quickly. But he wakes an hour later.

Our rooms are quite close so I'll try telling him from my room.

We've tried explaining in the day but it hasn't worked yet.
