Does anyone please have any advice.

DS has slept through 7-5.30/6ish since around 6 months old. He’s just turned 14m and is now waking 4/5 times per night. It’s been going on weeks.

Sometimes he will cry for a few minutes and resettle other times he will become hysterically upset and need calming down. We’ve been giving him Calpol assuming he may be in pain but I’m really not sure what is going on. He can already walk and has been for a while so not related to that.

His nights are just really disturbed, I’m almost hearing him every hour or so on the monitor crying out or moaning. It could be teething as he has had a lot coming through at once, has just had his pre-molars, but nights have not improved. The times of the wakings are usually 12/1am, 3am, 4/5am. Sometimes he’ll cry out in the evening too around 9.30/10.

He’s on 2x naps a day still, 30mins at 9.30-10am and up to 2hrs at 1.30-3.30. He has started resisting the AM nap some days, and on those days we move to one nap at 12/12.30 ish (this makes no difference to the nights).

Is there some sort of regression at this age?! We’ve had bad nights before of course but nothing that’s gone on this long.

Try giving nurofe/liquid ibuprofen for teething as it helps with taking down swelling. Calpol is really only good at reducing temperatures.

The only other thing is that maybe he has a sore throat or ears and stuff like that always is worse when they lay down/at night, be good to get GP to atleast rule it out. Hope it resolves itself soon for you .
