Duvet or what?

My little one is coming up to 17 months. We used to use sleeping bags, but during the summer there were a few weeks/a month or so when she was just in a vest or thin sleepsuit as it was so hot. Since it got colder we've tried the bags again and she now HATES them, she wriggles a lot and I think she hates having her feet encased. We've been using light blankets since then but she often moves and kicks them off, so I'm thinking it's time to get a cot duvet as the weather gets colder.

However I'm struggling finding what size to use with a 120x60 cot. All the cot duvets online seem to be 120x150 and they all say suitable for a cot bed which is 140x70, or a toddler bed. We're not planning on transitioning her into a bed for a few months yet- she's quite small for her age. Has anyone else had this and what did you end up using? I don't want to use something that's for a bigger cot bed if there's a danger of suffocation etc.

We have a small cot (not cot bed) and use a normal toddler duvet for DS. Think he was about 2 when we switched as he kept getting out of his sleeping bags. Still hates the duvet and won't have it on to fall asleep, I just tuck him in once he's asleep. I did try fleece onesies (without a hood) over his Pjs, instead of a duvet, but he just took them off too!

Slumbersacs are great. they are like the sleeping bags but their feet can be out. my almost 3yo still sleeps in one. as do I 🤣 because I'm bedsharing with my youngest. they're fairly expensive but you can get them on vinted or marketplace

Oh they look good but yes very pricey! Will keep a look out on Vinted etc.

You could look at a cot quilt rather than a duvet

I got a 100x120 toddler duvet and bedding from John Lewis got our 60x120 cot bed.
The duvet was from their Anyday range.

And the duvet set and fitted sheets was reduced to half price. Looks like they have a few still reduced, although they have a few other designs:

My baby isn’t 4 months old yet so I was planning ahead in my nesting phase!
