Good Afternoon, I hope someone can give me some advice.

My little boy is 8 months old and has just navigated his naps to be over an hour. We are going from 3 naps to 2 and things have been great.

We normally have been putting him to bed between 7/7:30pm and we have been doing the same routine since he was a month old. He normally falls asleep on the bottle and sleeps through the night till around 6:30/7am.

The past few weeks though a few days his naps have only been 30 mins in the morning then around an hour and 15 in the afternoon but then keeping him awake till 7/7:30 his awake times will be around 4/4.5 hours. We have tried putting him down around 6/6:30 but he just fights the bottle and screams the house down.

We tried giving him a third nap but he just doesn’t want to go down.

What should be do if he wakes from his naps early? Do we just ride out the longer awake times or just persist with putting him down earlier?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Looking at your chart, it looks like you are in the transition between 2 nap days and 3 nap days. So ots to be expected that some days need to continue to be 3 nap days and you only have 2nap days when baby can cope with that.

I'd do a pushchair or car drive catnip at teatime on difficult days.

Looks like baby woke earlier than normal thus morning, which could be the cause.
