Cot to bed transition

Morning!
Does anybody have any advice on easing the transition between cot and bed.
My almost 3 year old (in 2 weeks) climbed out of his cot last week. We have transferred his cot to a bed and he has gone from sleeping a solid 13 hours and getting up between 7.30 and 8.30 to being up multiple times in the night and being up for the day between 4 and 5- and he is WIDE awake.
We also have a baby (11 weeks) so it's safe to say I'm exhausted!!
We have maintained the same nighttime routine- we have had this pretty much since he was born, put a gate on his door and a cot side on his bed to no avail.
He is shattered at bed time and falling asleep isn't an issue.
His behaviour has been shocking and this is purely because he is tired.
Any advice greatly appreciated
😊

Have you tried a gro clock? Our 3 year old doesn’t get out of bed until the sun comes up. It worked wonders. There’s a book that goes with it to read at bedtime.

We had a few nights of him finding it hilarious to get out of bed at the beginning but once he realised there was no fun to be had and we got the clock he went back to sleeping solidly all night. Especially after explaining he wouldn’t enjoy fun things in the daytime because he was too tired.

Thanks @Abouttimemum
Yes I did look at them in desperation yesterday 😂
I wasn't sure if it was another thing I'd be throwing money at to get a child to sleep 😂

@bigboymamaz I know this is an old thread but do you have any updates? Going through similar with my 3 year old right now!

Came here to recommend a gro clock!

Our 4 year old used to wake at 4.30am every day and now he goes back to sleep until his clock says it's time to wake at 7🤣

I really didn't think it would work but it's been absolutely brilliant for us.

Hi- this is my post I name changed.
The gro clock did bugger all! I ended up getting a cot side which I think made him feel more secure and he also is a big boy so we got a single bed instead of keeping him in his cotbed and he soon settled....saying that he's 4 now and was up at 5.50!!!
