Dds sleep has been hit and miss since she has been born.
Went through a stage of not sleeping at around 20 months so I rearranged her room, strangley this worked and she started sleeping through... for about a month.
Then started refusing to go to bed and waking frequently in the night, I just ended up bringing her into my bed so we could both get some sleep, only she slept great, but I didn't
Soooo, decided to be stricter and stop bringing her into my bed as she wasn't sleeping great I also decided to take side off cot as didn't want to implement new sleep patterns only to have this disrupted when she went into her big girl bed. Again this worked great and she would happily go be bed and sleep through, or self settle if she woke.
However, this last week she has been a total nightmare, will happily go into bed, but tossing and turning and not going to sleep. She will do this for around half an hour to an hour before she gets up and calls me. If I don't go to her she starts to get really distressed and upset, I go to her and she will just scream and cry and refuse to go back to bed, even if I sit and cuddle her or stay with her. She just gets herself more and more upset.
So far this week, I've bought her in with me, taken her for a drive and rocked her back to sleep, all these methods seem to work, however they are not ideal and not something I want to continue doing. She normally goes to bed at 7.30 but this week it's been any time between 10 and 11.
I've tried giving calpol to see if it's teeth bit it's made no difference, she does look really tired and part of me wonders if she's now just over tired so I might try just letting her have an extended nap on Sunday as we are busy tomorrow and Saturday (she normally naps an hour in the week and up to three hours on a weekend)
Does any one have any suggestions, or been through this??
Please don't ask me to just let her cry it out as I tried that once and 3 hours later she was still going
